The Town of Milton engaged Delaware Engineering, D.P.C to conduct an assessment of the Town’s major facilities and help local officials prioritize capital improvements. The assessment recommended the demolition and reconstruction of Highway Department facilities at a separate Town-owned site. Relocation of Highway Department facilities comes with an opportunity to reimagine the site of Town Hall and Burgess-Kimball Memorial Park through the development of a Town Center Master Site Plan (Plan).

Phase I of the Town of Milton’s Highway Garage Relocation project includes general site clearing, grading, and stormwater infiltration management, as well as design, bidding, and construction administration by Delaware Engineering. Structures constructed during this phase included a 12,000 square foot unheated pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) storage building and two 10,000 gallon above-ground fuel storge tanks and dispensing system. Electrical engineering design was prepared by Delaware Engineering to provide 10,000 amps of power between the structures for interior and exterior lighting, door controls, cold storage equipment, fire detection and suppression, and communications.

Phase II of the project includes site grading adjacent to the highway garage and the construction of a 28,000-square-foot highway garage with office spaces. The construction of this phase is underway. Delaware designed the project, assisted the Town with bidding, and is performing construction administration services.
