For 11 year old Michael, the perfect wish was to have an all season deck. Michael has a serious neurodegenerative disease which limits his ability to move independently. Despite having a big backyard with an above ground pool at his home, accessibility was a significant challenge to enjoying time outside. His wish was to have a deck that connected his home to his pool on one level to allow him to easily access the outdoors and pool.

Delaware Engineering was privileged to fund and personally construct a deck complete with railings and a hydraulic lift to make Michael’s wish come true. The deck connects the house from a sliding glass kitchen door to the pool and provides a large, safe area for Michael and his friends and family to play, relax and enjoy the outdoors all year round and the pool in the warm summer months.
